The Host-Darkness

Author's note-This poem is from the point of view the wanderer in The Host when her body is being taken over by a soul.

I try to see
but all I see is darkness
I try to feel
but all I feel is isolation
I try to smell
but all I smell is angst
I try to taste
but all I taste is affliction
I try to listen
but all I hear is silence
silence
darkness
silence

  1. This is a pretty scool poem. There are some typos though: lower case i in line 8, "iscolation" should be isolation" in line 4. I like the repetition, and the idea of smeeling angst!

  2. This was a very cool poem because it gave me a mysterious feel about things and it gave me thoughts about this poem even though I haven't read the book. I also like the repition and vocabulary. Nice job

  3. That book sounds really creepy, but the poem was good. I like the repetition and the using of the senses.

  4. I love how this poem ends. You are a really good poet, and I love the idea of using repitition and senses. Even though this poem doesn't resemble this, this reminded me of the Eric Carle "Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?" book. Nice job
